The Commission on Higher Education Regional Office 2 (CHED RO2) joined the unveiling of the Cagayan Valley Regional Development Plan (CVRDP) 2023-2028 on August 8, 2023 at the Isabela Provincial Capitol’s Amphitheater, Ilagan City, Isabela.
Spearheaded by the National Economic and Development Authority Regional Office 2 (NEDA RO2) and the Regional Development Council 2 (RDC2), the CVRDP launch had plenary discussions that featured the sectors of governance, infrastructure, agriculture and fishery, industry and services, and social services.
Represented by OIC-Director IV, Atty. Marco Cicero F. Domingo, and Engr. Rosario G. Danga, Supervising Education Program Specialist, CHED RO2 shared and discussed during the plenary session the various Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education (UAQTE) programs, Student Financial Assistance Programs (StuFAPs), and the Scholarship for Staff and Instructors’ Knowledge Advancement Program (SIKAP) grant, which contribute to and promote human capital and social development.
Aligned with the current administration’s 8-Point Socioeconomic Agenda, the Philippine Development Plan (PDP) agenda, the Ambisyon Natin 2040, the 2030 United Nations Agenda for Sustainable Development, and the region’s long-term vision, and as a fruition of the commitment, collective effort and collaborative planning of both public and private sectors, the CVRDP 2023-2028 “defines the region’s development direction for the next six years and its contribution in the attainment of national development goals and priorities” and is “geared towards deep economic and social transformation to reinvigorate job creation and accelerate poverty reduction for a prosperous, inclusive, and resilient society”.
