With the mission of advancing the knowledge of graduating student-grantees as they take steps towards their respective career path, the Commission on Higher Education Regional Office 2 (CHED RO2), through its Unified Student Financial Assistance System for Tertiary Education Unit (UniFAST Unit), conducted a webinar on Career Placement and Employment for graduating Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES) and Tulong Dunong Program – Tertiary Education Subsidy (TDP-TES) student-grantees on June 5-6, 2023 via the Zoom Platform.

In his message, Atty. Marco Cicero F. Domingo, CHED RO2 OIC-Director IV, welcomed the participants and expressed CHED and UniFAST’s recognition of educational endeavors’ paramount role and contribution in bolstering the promotion and access of relevant and quality education. “You are gathered today for the enlightenment and creation of a path of success towards your professional life”, Atty. Domingo conveyed.

Themed “Navigating Successful Career Transitions”, the resource speaker, Mr. Christopher Louis T. Batulan, comprehensively presented and discussed topics that enabling participants to learn tips and techniques in properly crafting an effective resumé and application letter, know avenues for job search, assimilate interview skills, recognize vital industry insights, and adapt critical workplace skills.

With his knowledge and professional experience in labor relations and standards, and in facilitating endeavors promoting employment opportunities as a former Livelihood Development Specialist (LDS) and member of the legal team of the Department of Labor and Employment Cagayan Provincial Office (DOLE Cagayan), Mr. Batulan likewise discussed the “Basic Labor Education for Graduating Students” to abreast the participants on their basic rights as future workers.

Aside from being an avenue of learning, the two-day webinar also served as a recognition of the efforts of the participants for successfully completing their respective undergraduate studies amidst the challenges they experienced along.
