This refers to the implementation of CHED Merit Scholarship Program per CMO No. 8, s. 2019 and CMO No. 11, s. 2021 and in accordance with the budget appropriations for FY 2022.

The CHED Merit Scholarship Program are intended for students whose general weighted average (GWA) is at least 96 percent or its equivalent for Full Merit program, and 93 to 95 percent or its equivalent for Half-Merit program, who must enroll in recognized priority programs in SUCs/LUCs or private HEls.

The budget for CHED Merit Scholarship Programs provided in the FY 2022 General Appropriations Act (GAA) can only cover the continuing scholars, thus, we cannot accept new applications for incoming first year college students for A Y 2022-2023.

This issuance does not cover student financial assistance under RA 10931 -Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act (UAQTEA) such as the Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES) and Tulong Dunong Program (TOP), Medical Scholarship and Return Service (MSRS) Program, and Study Grant Program for Children and Dependents of Sugarcane Industry Workers and Small Sugarcane Farmers (SIDA-SGP).

Further, the CHED Regional Offices are directed to disseminate this information to prevent spreading of fake news and avoid confusion to interested student applicants.
