The Commission on Higher Education Regional Office 2 (CHED RO2), in partnership with the Office of Senator Cristopher Lawrence “Bong” Go, oriented new student-grantees of the Tulong-Dunong Program-Tertiary Education Subsidy (TDP-TES) at Piazza Zicarelli, Gamu, Isabela, on 23 January 2025.
Being a collaborative effort, the event was graced by Dr. Julieta M. Paras, Director IV, Senator Cristopher Lawrence “Bong” Go, and the Officials and TDP-TES Focal Persons of various partner Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) located in the Province of Isabela.
Dr. Paras, in her message, emphasized that the student-grantees’ life stories are testaments on how the TDP-TES is of great help in transforming lives of financially challenged but deserving Filipino students. She encouraged the student-grantees to pay forward and contribute to the family and the community that aided them achieve their dreams.
Ms. Leah Sandra M. Perez, CHED RO2 – UniFAST Unit Lead Regional Coordinator, acquainted the new TDP-TES beneficiaries through the salient points of UniFAST Memorandum Circular No. 3, s. 2024 or the “Revised Guidelines on the implementation of the Tulong Dunong Program under the UAQTEA for State Universities and Colleges, CHED-recognized Local Universities and Colleges, and Private Higher Education Institutions,” highlighting the requirements and responsibilities that must be fulfilled need to ensure eligibility until the completion of their respective undergraduate degrees.
On the same day, the new student-grantees received their grants through the payout facilitated by the Officials and Focal Persons of concerned HEIs.
Covered under RA 10931, otherwise known as the “Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act” (UAQTEA), TDP-TES supports at least the partial cost of tertiary education and education-related expenses of beneficiaries who are pursuing recognized or quality assured undergraduate programs offered by State Universities and Colleges (SUCs), CHED-recognized Local Universities and Colleges (LUCs), and Private HEIs.
