The Commission on Higher Education Regional Office 2 (CHED RO2), in partnership with the Nueva Vizcaya State University – Bayombong Campus (NVSU Bayombong) and the Office of Senator Cristopher Lawrence “Bong” Go, held a separate Orientation and Ceremonial Distribution of Grants for New Tulong-Dunong Program-Tertiary Education Subsidy (TDP-TES) program student-grantees belonging to Batch 5.1 NVSU Bayombong Campus, Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya on October 2, 2024.

Present during the event were the team from CHED RO2, led by UniFAST Lead Regional Coordinator Ms. Leah Sandra M. Perez, Officials and TDP-TES Focal Persons of various participating Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) located in the Province of Nueva Vizcaya, and staff of the Office of Senator Bong Go.

The CHED RO2 team walked the 52 new beneficiaries through the salient points of UniFAST Memorandum Circular No. 2, s. 2022 or the “Amendments to Memorandum Circular No. 2, series of 2021 entitled “Guidelines on the implementation of the Tulong Dunong Program for Academic Year 2020-2021 and Onwards.” The team highlighted the different documentary requirements and responsibilities that the student-grantees need to fulfill for them to continue being eligible until the completion of their respective undergraduate degrees. Following the orientation was the payout of grants facilitated by the Officials and Focal Persons of concerned HEIs.

On September 16, 2024, the same event was conducted in the Province of Cagayan wherein 80 new student-grantees from various Cagayan-based HEIs received their grants, and were afforded with the opportunity to know better the program they are availing of.

Covered under RA 10931 or the “Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act” (UAQTEA), TDP-TES stands as one of the national government funded programs that provides financial assistance to Filipino students who are pursuing recognized or quality assured undergraduate programs offered by State Universities and Colleges (SUCs), CHED-recognized Local Universities and Colleges (LUCs), and Private HEIs. TDP-TES supports at least the partial cost of tertiary education and education-related expenses of beneficiaries.
