Invited officials from the Local Health Insurance Office – Tuguegarao City (LHIO Tuguegarao City) of the Philippine Health Insurance Corp. Regional Office II (PhilHealth RO2) oriented the Commission on Higher Education Regional Office 2’s (CHED RO2) personnel on the various benefits afforded by the Republic Act No. 11223 or the Universal Health Care Law (UHC Law) and the PhilHealth Konsulta: Konsultasyong Sulit at Tama on April 4, 2023, at the CHED RO2’s Auditorium, Regional Government Center, Carig Sur, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan.
Ms. Nenie Cammayo, Account Management Information Specialist, presented the salient points of the UHC Law and encompassed the discussion of the eligibility for PhilHealth membership, classification of PhilHealth members, and the different benefits or packages that PhilHealth members may avail of. She accentuated the mantra of the UHC Law that guarantees equitable access to quality and affordable health care goods and services.
Marketing Specialist, Ms. Jennifer Tanguilan, supplemented the information shared by Ms. Lumelay by introducing PhilHealth’s Konsulta: Konsultasyong Sulit at Tama program’s availment process. Konsulta facilitates the availment of benefits mandated under the UHC Law, and put into action the provision of “immediate eligibility and access to promotive, preventive, curative, rehabilitative and pallative health care services without causing financial hardship and prioritizes the needs of the population who cannot afford such services”. Ms. Tanguilan elaborated that members must be registered with an accredited Konsulta Provider (KP) to avail the health care services and goods covered under the said program.
The orientation concluded with an open forum wherein CHED RO2 personnel raised and shared their concerns, questions, opinions and experiences in relation to PhilHealth’s services.
