The Commission on Higher Education Regional Office 2 (CHED RO2) conducted the distribution of the Student Monetary Assistance for Recovery and Transition (SMART) financial assistance to qualified Novo Vizcayano undergraduate students on January 30, 2024 at the Nueva Vizcaya Convention Center, Capitol Compound, Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya.
Aimed to dispense the SMART grant cheques to 99 recipients, the distribution was graced and led by Mr. Joven B. Jacinto, Education Supervisor II and the region’s SMART Focal Person, Hon. Patricio F. Dumlao, Member of the Nueva Vizcaya’s Sangguniang Panlalawigan, Hon. Samuel G. Balinhawang, Provincial Indigenous Peoples’ Mandatory Representative (IPMR) and Ex-Officio Member of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Nueva Vizcaya, and Hon. Jose V. Gambito, Provincial Governor of Nueva Vizcaya. Also, in attendance were the scholarship coordinators of concerned public and private Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in Nueva Vizcaya.
As part of the National Employment Recovery Strategy and in view of the effects of the recent global pandemic, SMART program has the thrust of helping qualified students who are pursuing undergraduate studies for the Academic Year 2023-2024.
