Ensuring agency’s continuous operation amidst unfortunate events is paramount in responding to the call for efficient and effective delivery of public service. Moving towards this thrust, the Commission on Higher Education Regional Office 2 (CHED RO2) conducted a Seminar Workshop on the crafting and enhancement of its Business Continuity Plan (BCP) on May 9, 2023 at Las Palmas, San Jose Village, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan.

Ms. Ruth T. Lasam, Chief Administrative Officer, Dr. Almacita P. Abrigo, Chief Education Program Specialist, and Engr. Joven B. Jacinto, Education Supervisor II, spearheaded the conduct of the one-day seminar workshop.

Concepts, primordial goals, components, and the role of BCP in protecting the safety of personnel and guaranteeing the integrity of critical operations were underscored. Learning from the lessons that the ravaging COVID-19 pandemic brought to the fore, CHED RO2’s BCP also covered a preparedness plan that can be activated once a health security threat or an outbreak of an infectious disease occurs.

Grouped into different teams, personnel from the Administrative and Technical Divisions actively participated and pitched ideas on how to further strengthen the BCP of CHED RO2.

Situated in Region 2’s primary growth center and one of the most hazard prone cities in the country, CHED RO2 had experienced the disruptive effects of natural calamities and the recent global health pandemic.
